Another year of multiple movie releases one after the other in the past 9 months gives us so many opportunities to sit down and watch something entertaining with family and friends. Yet simply “putting something on to watch” isn’t as easy as all that for the decent movie conscious mind. New movies seem to bed riddled with sex scenes and profanity so instead of you spending time researching their content we’ve put together a list of the top 10 clean movies of 2017.
Kong follows a team of scientists and Vietnam War soldiers who travel to an uncharted island in the Pacific and encounter terrifying creatures and the mighty Kong. With no sex scenes and very little nudity (men with no shirts in a few scenes) Kong is a thrilling monster movie with a surprising plot twist and intriguing setting. Profanity includes at least 1 F-word and 8 religious exclamations (e.g. Oh God)
2. Dunkirk (2017)
Dunkirk is a 2017 war film that portrays the Dunkirk evacuation of World War II. After the invasion of France, hundreds of thousands of Allied soldiers have retreated to Dunkirk. As German forces close in, they await evacuation in a seemingly hopeless situation.
Described by critics as one of the greatest war films this movie will provide a gripping and intriguing movie night for any war film lover. Absolutely no sex scenes, about 2 f-words, and 4 religious exclamations (e.g Christ, For God’s Sake)
3. Beauty and the Beast (2017)
Beauty and the Beast is a modern take on the classic fairy tale about a monstrous looking prince under a curse and a beautiful young woman who fall in love. This is a great movie for the whole family to enjoy.
4. 47 Meters Down (2017)
47 Meters Down is a thriller about two adventurous sisters vacationing in Mexico where they get trapped in a shark cage at the bottom of the ocean. With less than an hour supply oxygen and white sharks circling nearby this horror/drama makes a great night with a group of friends. No sex scenes and some profanity (1 f-word, 27 religious exclamations e.g. Oh God)
5. The Accountant (2016)
The Accountant follows a small-town Illinois certified public accountant with high-functioning autism who actually makes his living uncooking the books of dangerous criminal organizations around the world that are experiencing internal embezzlement. This adult orientated criminal thriller comes with mixed feelings from critics but is sure to give family and friends an exciting movie night. There are no sex scenes in this film, and more profanity than the others on our list ( 22 f-words, rude hand gesture)
6. Coco (2017)
Coco (not yet released) is about aspiring musician Miguel who teams up with charming trickster Hector on an extraordinary journey through the Land of the Dead.
7. The Dark Tower (2017)
The Dark Tower is adapted from the Stephen King series: A pre-teen boy discovers an alternate world through his dreams and soon learns that he is the key to saving his own world with the help of a Gunslinger. This suspenseful film has no sex or nudity and little profanity (name calling and 5 religious exclamations)
