Popstar Mapei Teams Up with Volvo Trucks for New Music Video

What happens when you put a popstar and a Volvo truck together on a road trip through Europe? A musical adventure and great reality TV!

Swedish-American music artist Mapei has teamed up with Volvo Trucks to create her latest music video ‘Million Ways to Live’. Accompanied by director Liza Minou Morberg, Jens Karlsson (one of the world’s best truck drivers) and a miniature schnauzer called Sushi, Mapei embarks on a nine-day road trip spanning six different countries.

The result is a light-hearted and inspiring TV series called ‘Reality Road’, with the 18-wheeler Volvo truck providing the necessary props and sets for each destination.

“With ‘Reality Road’ we want to show the strength of our service offerings,” says Per Nilsson, Director of Public Relations at Volvo Trucks. “For a truck to stay on the road, the services that are linked to it are just as important as the vehicle itself. At the same time, we want to produce TV entertainment that attracts a wider audience. As far as I know, no other company has used reality TV for marketing purposes,” he says.

The road trip, which covers over 4,000 miles, sees Mapei preform a surprise gig in the suburbs of Paris and a role in a two wheel stunt in Berlin.

“I love to travel and to have the opportunity to meet new people and cultures. And that is also what “Million Ways to Live“ is about – being on the road and having the freedom to travel. It is the ultimate song for a road trip,” says Mapei.

The reality series ‘Reality Road’ was recorded during nine days around Europe. The three stars - the artist Mapei, director Liza Minou Morberg and driver Jens Karlsson - were closely followed by the film crew who tried to capture everything that happened.

I can definitely see how this adventure is of mutual benefit to both mapei and volvo – but at the end of the day, if it provides great tv entertainment then why not?
